Default seized engine? maybe?

my ISUZU passport had an oil leak and i think the motor seized. but the other day i filled it back with oil and it started up for lik 5 seconds. but then seized up again. i then took out the spark plugs and sprayed some good lubricant in the cylinders. now i'm just waiting the day out and i 'll check it again. it can't be too bad of shape if it ran for 5 seconds right? also when i took out the spark plugs, they were dripping with oil! what could of happen?whats your guys opinion and what else should i do cause replacing the motor is too damn expensive. if it comes to it what motor will fit into a 97 passport anyways. thanks.

sounds like the motor seized. My best advice is to buy a real honda and you won't have that problem anymore

a seized engine is very hard to repair. That involves a full rebuild, and still the engine may not be able to be salvaged.
Try to turn the engine with a breaker bar at the crank pulley.

For the record, the motor in the Izuzu Rodeo is the honda motor from the Honda Passport. Entire vehicle is the same, only slightly stripped down compared to the Honda. Did it run out of oil or was the oil pump bad?

it ran out of oil. the thing that gives me some hope of reviving it is that it started and ran for a few seconds then seized up again. i'm in the process of looking for a new motor. if i can get parts and labor for under 2500 then i'll do it. whats a fair price for a motor swap?

It may be a dumb idea, but dump 5 quarts in it and try to start it. May save you some $$.
