new car, new question b20 vtec
I am going to try and be as specific as I can with this question, because the problem is really puzzling me and I want to do all that I can to get help. I just bought a hatch with a fully built b20 vtec setup. It needs to be tuned again! It was dyno tuned, but then the valve lashes were adjusted and it threw off the fuel trim. It was retuned, on the highway, about 3 weeks ago, and I have had the car for about 3 days. It is running good and strong, but it needs a retune, to get more out of it. The problem is, whenever I am in say second gear, because this is where I notice it the most, and i am at like 3000 rpms, and I let off of the gas and I go to press it down again, it jumps slightly. It is not a smooth put your foot on the gas lightly and it goes. I put my foot on the gas lightly and then finally when the pedal is down far enough, it kinda kicks. These are the details of the problem, I have the specs on the engine if that will help, just ask. Thanks and sorry for the long post!
the car was tuned with uberdata. as far as how, i know that the last time it was tuned, it was not done on a dyno....so im sure the results were not the best. when i bought it, the previous owner said he would definitely consider a retune, which is first on my list of things to do to the car. as far as fully built:: BLOCK: Arias pistons, Eagle rods, all new bearings and seals. HEAD:B16 Skunk 2 stage 2 cams, dual springs and titanium retainers, and as for the valves I really do not remember. The motor runs good and pulls extremely hard. One thing that my buddy and I noticed today was that it appears that there is no FICV and that it somehow being bypassed by a t-fitting with the lines going to the appropriate places. Anyone ever seen this?
