Default CRX hatch alignment

My hatch is pushed more to the right, making the edge of the hatch closer to the meeting piece on the body in the lower right hand corner (when facing the back) and it's nicking the metal/scraping the paint when the hatch is opened/closed + it looks ugly having a big gap on the left side and almost no gap on the right side when you look @ the car from the back.
I'm assuming the hatch hinges are bent? if so.. is it logical to attempt to bend them back myself? or just find some straight ones?

Well, this seems to have been voided. While taking the hatch off this morning a piece of wood decided to go through the glass. Great! =D
