Default Grinding Noise When Turning Right

For the last week or so, my 1996 CRV has been making a metal on metal grinding noise, it sounds like its coming from the right front wheel or engine bay.
Now it only makes this noise when doing the following, turning right and accelerating, even slight acceleration we produce the noise, if I coast around a right hand turn, then there is no noise, I have to accelerate out while still having the steering wheel turned to the right. A Left turn is fine.
I took it to the garage and they checked the breaks etc, but could not find it, they think it maybe the Wheel Bearing or Wheel drive shaft, but its going to cost me just to find that out.
Any idea’s?

Cheers

they just checked out the brakes and nothing else? could be wheel bearing or the axles...look at your cv boots for any cracks and/or axle grease around your axle area.

Thanks guys, I'll let the garage know your thoughts, and post the results here for others

Rear diffs on those are notorious for noise. change your rear diff fluid (may need to be done twice) if its 4wd. If its 2wd you need to look deeper than just the brakes.

Well it turned out to be the Left Front Wheel Bearing, it had detached from the Wheel Hub, it was still in the right place, but could be lifted on and off by hand, rather than by Hydraulic Pressure.
Going around a right hand turn, and powering on, put extra pressure/strain on the left side and caused the noise.
As Second hand hub & bearing from a wreckers, plus labour set me back NZ$660.

Cheers

my gf has a 2005 CR-V AWD, when she turns either way there is a loud grinding noise coming from the rear, has anyone come across this issue?
