Default When shipping freight don't use ROADWAY

Just wanted to let everyone know that when you ship freight to avoid using Roadway because they are in the habit of upcharging/ripping off their clients.

I have shipped many different items with several freight companies (Saia, Old dominion, USF, etc.) without any problems or upcharging, but both times I've used Roadway they bumped up the cost. The first time was minor so I let it slide, but the second time they more than doubled the original freight cost by saying it weighed significantly more than it did as well as adding some bogus fee. I was able to get the bogus fee dropped because it was blantantly incorrect, but proving the weight thing is basically my word vs. theirs & their word rules.

From my experience with Roadway it seems they like to add additional fees to increase their profit knowing that some things will be disputed & some won't, but either way they will make more profit.

I know I couldn't think of the best place to post it, but I do want to make people aware, so I thought I'd let a lot of you guys that I've sold spare parts to know.

We all buy & sell & ship may items & when they large enough to require freight I can recommend several companies, but not Roadway.

I shipped a 104 lb tranny though ups it cost cheaper than $100 I thought that was a decent price. Especially since it was completely across the country.

That sucks about roadway.

What were you shipping?

i hate ups. they suck when it crosses into canada. They jack up the price even though the initial payment included border fees and duties. There are several class action law suits against ups for these c.o.d. charges they can not explain.

sucks about roadway

Haha, you expect it from the cable company, but now I guess one can expect it from Roadway too.
