Default getting a LS/VTEC integra...couple questions

im picking up a 94 integra ls, with a ls/vtec engine with the usual bolt ons etc when i leave japan next week. now since i have been here i have picked up alot of ITR parts, one of them being ITR cams. what i want to know is if the ITR cams would make a significant difference in power over the stock GSR cams that are on the car now. Can i just swap the ITR cams in or do i need additional ITR parts for it to be reliable/make more power?

thanks fellas

You would feel a difference in power, I would say like 8-10hp to the wheels. You dont need anything else they will bolt right in with no other mods. I have a ctr intake cam n a stock gsr exhaust and just the intake cam made a nice difference mainly top end and thats probably where you will see your improvements. Upgrading valvetrain is always a good thing, but not a must with just itr cams.

you can keep the stock gsr valvetrain if you stick to the stock gsr revlimit. a good set of cam gears and tuning can bring out some nice hp.

oh yeah you will diff. feel a difference in the top end, but it is wise to upgrade your valvetrain for the higher rpm range. You can go with some brand new supertech valves springs and retainers, or find a itr valvetrain in good condition. to take advantage of the top end you will get, add a itr intake manifold or edelbrock.

P.S. I have the same setup with a b16 head with itr valvetrain, pulls the same as a type r. except in top end cus i have b16 cams.

also as the guy stated before me you can stick with the stock gsr if you stay with its revlimit, but with the new top end your gonna feel it want to keep pulling.but keep it stock till you got the dollars then or valvetrain and a new tune.
