Default Which catback / exhaust?? (no mugen, tanabe, apexi ws...)

Looking for a catback system with a great racing sound in high rpm's, but

one which is not as loud as a racing medaillon, doesn't hang too low like the mugen twinloop (because I want to lower the r), isn't too heavy, looks good, and is a good setup with a toda header and testpipe (not sure which one yet).

As far as I've read the mugen twinloop, spoon n1, tanabe racing medaillon, apexi ws are no options.

Could the fujitsubo RM01A be an option? Other brands perhaps?

I've never had it, but I've heard the fujitsubo is a great exhaust.

I have the Fuji RM01A exhaust and it is an awesome exhaust! Doesn't hang to low or anything. I have it hooked up to a Toda header and a T1R testpipe and it isn't too loud at all. The only other exhaust I would get for the ITR would be the Hytech.

Thanks for the quick info so far! So Fuji will be an option.

How about Invidia?

I have the same setup. Its nice and quiet but when its time to get on it, it'll let you know. The clearance is also exeptional, as you can see here.

Fuji FTW!!

I don't know about the invidia. I know they drone pretty bad and are loud on an S2K.

I might be tempted to sell my RM01A, as I am thinking of putting my 2dr. back to stock and working on the 4dr. Its too bad the exhaust won't work on it.

That too is a good route. I too have a set-up similar to this.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe you have to modify the T1R mid-pipe to have a donut gasket on the end.

Since you don't want something heavy I'd say go for the Fujitsubo or the T1R. Niether is very loud and both are lightweight and good quality as well as making good power.

With that said though.....

Shawn - Raspy, high pitch, "ricer sounding" is a characteristic of Titanium

thats cool. i'm not tryin to thread jack or anything, but i've been thinkin about a new exhaust lately. I just sold my header, so i need a new one, and my apexi ws's canister has pretty much exploded (she held up pretty good, haha). so i really want to find the "perfect exhaust". i'd assume the J's sounds raspy, and is expensive as hell. i'd probably be shoppin more in the $650-850 range.

so the fujitsubo is pretty nice? straight through and sounds good?

The J's 60RS is actually very quiet (the one I heard on an S2K is, anyways), I assume it should be around the same for the DC2 ITR.

Have you looked at the T1R catback? It has a pretty nice sound to it as well.
Here's a pic of it on my car:

Color tips look gay. If you get a titanium exhaust, spray that can black.

You asked about the Invidia. It's heavy.

You really can't go wrong with the Fujitsubo though.

thermal has a pretty good exhaust system. thats what i was running until i changed their muffler today for a twinloop. doesnt sit that low at all. sits about the same height maybe a tad lower than an other muffler. the twin loop is what sits maybe less than an inch lower. ill get a pick when i can tonight.

T1r.. but i dont think a mugen tl hangs down far enough to be a major problem on a lowered itr.. i think i am pretty low myself and i have only drug the stock muffler a couple times on some extreme driveways.. i drag the midpipe more than i do the muffler..
