Default Okay..Heat in Cabin

1997 Acura Integra LS-

Well summer is already hitting in the south. Well my integra is having a bit of a im going to burn your feet ******* syndrome. I currently don't have a/c as one of the lines needs replacing, but i have the lever switch too cold side and the button pushed in to circulate the air inside the cabin. Note: I don't have the fan turned on. (1,2,3,4 Switch)

Question is, is it because im not running my a/c is the reason hot air is reaching my feet right in front of the firewall where the pedals are, or is it because the engine bay is so hot and letting in heat?

Any ideas to lower engine bay heat and cabin? without using the a/c

Well your first problem is having the switch on recirculate. If the blower fan isn't on, then the inside air just sits there and does nothing, except heat up and get stale.

If your windows are up, and you don't want to run the blower fan, then set the switch to fresh air intake (pulls air from the base of the windshield area, above the hood), and crack open the sunroof. This will pull fresh air in and the cracked sunroof will pull the air out through the top.

I've never noticed any heat down by the pedals. I only notice heat coming from the center console because of the removed heat shields from my exhaust B-pipe. Do you have the heat shields on your catalytic converter in place? That's the only thing I can think of that's near the pedals that would get hot enough to transfer heat inside.

Yes i do, as for the windows..im leaving them down because if they are up..i'd be swimming in sweat. The button i have pushed in i forget the name of it but if i dont have it pushed in, hot air blows threw the vents, with this button pushed in it stops it and only pushing heat to my feet it seems like

are you sure the air mix cable is hooked up properly? It sounds like it's set to hot, which runs the air through coils which are heated by engine coolant. Even if the A/C is not on, if the slider is set to cool, the air should at least be somewhat cool, unless maybe it's 100 degrees outside.

Are you pushing the 2nd button from the right, between the Defrost and A/C buttons?

Can you actually feel air blowing at your feet? Is the button for "face" pressed, or the button for "floor" pressed?

Either way, if the blower is off and it's set to recirculate, you shouldn't feel any air blowing at all.

ah well I bet it's set on the floor or floor/defrost setting, but the button isn't pushed.

You can push one of the vent zone buttons (light comes on), and then push the next button over just slightly so that the pushed one pops out and the light turns off, but the previous setting will still stay the same.
