Default Front brake problem

I've got a 94 Accord. Some thieves stole the front passenger-side caliper, and cut the rubber brake hose. I tried to replace the hose and stripped out the nipple at the end of the brake line, I used a flare wrench and all. How hard is it to replace the metal brake line? Would it be easier to cut the line and then replace the nipple and reflare the line? If I cut and reflare it, what do I do about the brake hose - the brackets that hold it will leave it ending a 1/2 inch or so short of the new nipple. Thanks!
