thermostat not opening?
popped the hood today and the coolant reservoir is bubbling and steaming. I check the coolant hoses, the top one is hot but the bottom one has barely any coolant in it and is cold as can be. whats happenin?
its your thermostat.... take off the hose and there will be 2 10s and the thermostat will pop right out. You can usually get a new one for about 5 bucks

Bingo, why ask if your title tell what the problem is?
Also only get a honda one the aftermarket ones are known for failing easily, also a honda one I believe is a fail safe and if it gets too got it gets stuck open, not closed like yours

Hmm,,, didn't know that the honda thermostats had these failsafes in place. When I replaced mine the last time, my original one was infact stuck open. I didn't think much of it at the time but just replaced it with a stant thermostat. Hope that when the stant unit fails it doesn't get stuck closed. Thanks for the tip CRxJimmy.
