I am hoping someone can tell me the truth here.
My race mechanics are authorized dealers for Brembo. I asked them to check the price for a Brembo front brake system for my 2006 SI. They just called me back and told me the 4 piston, 328x28 2 piece kit would cost me $2,450 plus $300 to install. The retail price is $2,595, or so I was told.
If I look on Fastbrake.com, they sell a Brembo 4 piston kit $1,600.
Here is the link: http://fastbrakes.com/shop/index.php?cPath=28_165
Are these the same kits? If so, why the HUGE price difference. Something is wrong here. Anyone know what it is?
There was a post regarding a meet a few days ago with someone in a Fuji Blue SI, with Brembo front brakes. Can someone tell me who that was, and if they read this thread could you PM me with what you paid and where you got them?
Thanks in advance

This is another Fastbrakes creation, using the Brembo calipers from the 2005+ TL 6 speed. This kit will come with the Brembo calipers, Hawk HPS pads, and the 2 piece 12.2 inch slotted/drilled rotors. It is a direct bolt on to the Civic Si, requiring at least a 17 inch wheel
straight from your link... They use OEM calipers made by Brembo for almost a factory / aftermarket hybrid brake kit. That's where the $$$ savings comes in. Also I didn't see anything about 2 piston or 4 piston, could be the other difference in cost.

And drilled rotors for the lose.

Ok, so basically, the Fastbrake kit is not truely a Brembo Upgrade. It's an OEM Brembo kit that fits.
Got it.
Thank you

Why not? It uses "Brembo" calipers and would also probably be considered an upgrade.
BTW -- 328mm = 12.9+ inches

Perhaps, but I have heard that using the wrong calipers can screw up the ABS system. I do not know much about brakes, but my mechanics recommended the Brembo kit that is listed by Brembo for the car.
Course, they were first to point out that I don't need a brake upgrade for the way I drive, but if I was in the mood to throw the money away, throw it away wisely.

so you do track events?
first thing DO NOT BUY DRILLED ROTORS.. odds are you will crack them and ask why.
if you went with a RL brake upgrade its still an upgrade it doesnt have to be from a racing kit that somone puts a sticker on that says your car will now be track ready.
so back to the first question, u do track events where you need the upgrade? i do alot of DEs in my R and im still running stock size rotors and calipers just cobalt pads. no problems with it sofar.
the reason i ask is because if its only for street your spending ALOT for brakes. but then again its your money. i didnt look but does stoptech make a kit? could try them.
