What do you make of this though?
Judging by all the good feedback on the sight id say its BS, but does anyone know?
Also, is it really necessary to buy new valve stems or is just a way to make more money?

Sounds like a scammer somewhere may be pretending to be Vulcan.
Vulcan Tire is a legitimate business based in Utah. If you look them up on the website of the Better Business Bureau, you will see that only two complaints have been filed against them in the past 3 years, which is an extraordinarily LOW number (and both were addressed).

I can vouche for vulcan tires too. I've bought most of my tires off of them and have been very happy with them, plus only 1-2 days shipping here.

Vulcan has warehouses in Utah and Pennsylvania, so shipping times are pretty quick. Same thing with Tire Rack (warehouses in Indiana, Delaware, Nevada, Georgia, and Louisiana, I believe) and Discount Tire (not sure where their warehouses are).

140 is pretty high
when i was having my direzzas mounted i shopped around for maybe 20 minutes, calling places from the yellow pages. most places were around 80-110, but an evans tire location nearby was able to mount/balance all 4 corners for $60.
granted thats in 15", but 16 shouldnt be that much more

No.
Typical prices for mounting and balancing are $10-25 per tire.
Wal-Mart's tire department often has low prices ($10-12 per tire) and they are usually willing to mount and balance tires that aren't bought there.

You'll have to ask.

That's up to you. I've had them do several sets without any problems, and they did a great job finding a difficult leak. But if you are more comfortable somewhere else, that's fine too.

Damn you guys pay hella for mounting and balancing. Here in San Jose there is a place run by some cool mexicans. They do used tires, new tires, and a lot of mounting and balancing for people. It only costs like $8 a tire.
I just ordered my new Azenis through Vulcan. First time ordering from them. Ordered them online last Monday night at like 9PM and my tires were here on Friday. Thats pretty damn good coming from Utah. Plus the price was the best I found on the net. I'll definately go with Vulcan again in the future.

Vulcan has warehouses in Utah and Pennsylvania. Yours may have come from Utah, but they may ship others from PA, depending on where they're being shipped.
