Default ls/vtec

what kind of ecu is needed for an ls/vtec swap with the block of a 94 and a gsr odb 1 or obd2 head, just whatever ecu comes with the gsr of that year? im new to the swap thing and i dont want to start without all the right stuff.thanks.

you dont need to get a "chipped" computer. You are right, you need what ever gsr ecu(obd1 or2) for which ever distributor and such you have. Now with an obd2 head and obd1 block you will have a check engine light since the block will not have a crank position sensor and may or may not have a knock sensor, but this wont effect how the car drives.
