Default New to honda-tech, my DA9 and the progression of it (56K? build a house)

like the title states, i'm new to honda-tech, but i've been a member of most of the major integra sites for 4 or 5 years now. anyway, here is kind of a "time-line" of my DA integra's life since i've had it.

first pics i took of the car:
(at this point the car is PRETTY MUCH stock except for SRI and Carbon Fiber hood)

Then i bought a set of wheels, 5Zigen FN01R-C wheels (16x7 silver)

^^^^^^^EWWW nasty wheelgap^^^^^^^
Check out the ricer tails (these were on the car for a grand total of about 3 weeks)

NOW... a new camera

At this point, i have lowered the car, put on a set of cleared out 91 spec tails and painted the stock bumper lenses amber:

everyone's favorite shot on clubintegra

next phase, painted OEM corner lenses amber:

bumper mounted fogs:

now something a little more recent:
bought a MINT set of JDM 1pc headlights:

put them ON:

the interior:

the engine bay:

and my newest shots:

questions and comments are more than welcomed. good/bad doesn't matter, i can handle constructive critism.

you should get some spoon style mirrors and clean the engine bay up a little beside that it look pretty good

thanks, the spoon style mirrors look rather out of place on DA's. i've seen them on 3 different DA's, 1 of which was the same color as mine, and it just looked "meh"

they look good on most other cars, but DA's and DB's just look silly with them.

and the bay will get a nice wire tuck etc. when i swap in the JDM B18C i'm ordering. might start the tuck this weekend though by hiding the headlight harnesses etc. and maybe a few other things here and there. i've already removed the factory cruise control (which didn't work anyway)

next to go is ABS and AC. when the B18C goes in, i'm not going with power steering either. the bay will have about 1/3 of the clutter it has now, when its ALL SAID AND DONE

thanks for the comments though. i'm ordering the GReddy SP2 catback this week to replace my stock exhaust system with 2.5 axle-back pipe to canister muffler. i love the sound and tone of it, its just TOO loud for the area i live in. SP2 is perfect though, that, and no one else has that exhaust in my area. so compared to the rest of the imports around, i'll have a unique exhaust.

you can't go and say its "BONE" stock when it has a SRI, CF hood, wheels, ricy tails, and a fart cannon exhaust, i'm sure there are plenty of non stock parts on the car that you don't know about

i meant that it was bone stock then, allow me to correct myself. at that point when the first pictures were taken, it was "PRETTY MUCH" stock.

currently, the car is nowhere near stock. as there are other mods that aren't pictured.

Crower Cams
Skunk2 Cam Gears
Hondata S200 EMS
Wideband o2 sensor (for tuning purposes)
Stock bore replacement pistons/rings (compression at 10:1 now though)
B&M Short Shifter with B&M "JDM Style" weighted ****
CAI (pictured)
Custom Exhaust (to be replaced with GReddy SP2 soon)
Innovative Motor Mounts (not the billet style)
Autometer Guages (A/F and volts)
many other mods, i'm just too tired to remember all of them, but thats most of the MAJOR mods.

after hours upon hours of tuning, the car now makes 144hp and 117lb-ft at the wheels. thats more at the wheels than the car came with from the factory (at the crank)

i'm very pleased with the cars performance, considering the mild modding. the B18C that i am swapping in will be nowhere near as MILD as this setup though. i'm going all out on it. shooting for 180+whp N/A.

What paint did you use for the turn signals and corners, it looks good. I want to do that to my turn signals also, already have the one piece headlights, so no need for the corners though.

4door? lol

well, the original plan was to boost the LS. i'm keeping the LS after i swap in the B18C. i might throw the LS into a hatch or something and boost it, for sh*ts and giggles. thats why the pistons were only 10.0:1 still a bit of "free space" for some boost. had i wanted to go NA with it, i would have simply done an LS/VTEC with something a little higher up on the compression scale.

thanks for the compliments though.

and i used Tamiya Clear Orange acrylic paint. applied the paint with a foam brush.
i used that on both projects, the corner lenses AND bumper lenses. works really well. to get a nice shade of amber, you'll have to apply no less than 5 coats. otherwise it will come out being a little bright.

I'd say this is more of somewhat legal thread being ...

-Picture Posts - We understand that this is a community, and people do like updating everyone on their cars progress. You are allowed to do so, as long as it is a COMPLETE update. No posting pictures of your new wheels, and that's it. If you have technical modifications that you wish to discuss, and want to include pictures of your car, you are more than welcome to do so. You seem like you need a few 's though, damn..

sorry they aren't the mad rare mugen stuff. steering wheel is stock, honey. just an acura wheel cover.

now i can take constructive criticisim, but was it really necessary to say "your wheels are ugly"

no wonder this site has a bad name for having immature conversations. doesn't bother ME much at all really, but a simple...

"Car looks good, but i'm not feelin the rims or the steering wheel cover"

...would have been much better. either way, thanks for the feedback all. i wont be getting clear bumper lenses to match the headlights though, never been a fan of clear lenses on DA's (especially the 92-93 front bumpers)
