91 civic hatch swap...
I'm new to the forums so advanced sorry if this is posted in the wrong area!
I need some answers! I have a 91 civc hatch with the stock d15 motor and I'm doing an engine swap... either to a B18 which I can get my hands on easly but I would have to build it. OR i have a friend who is willing to sell me his H23 motor which has less then 60k on it but I would have to put new rods and pistons in because he took the olds ones out but comes with everything else excp. tranny ...and the b18 is bare block with no tranny.
so I can build a B18 with just rods and pitsons cause i'm not looking for big power I do plan on FIing which ever motor I go with but nothing big. Which one would be easier? I'm more complete with the prelude motor but then how hard is it to swap into my civc and what kinda tranny problems would I have? I'm looking to spend the less money but still have a fun car.
I know out the gate the prelude motor stock is better horsepower wise but if i'm reading up and doing my homework right the b18 has more potential?
thanks for the help!

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1508680 <--lots of help here.
H series motors are a difficult swap in 88-91 chassis. Plus H23 is not the greatest motor in the world and non-vtec. I would lean more towards the B-series motors they are a lot easier and low hassle.
