Default Honda Fit Hybrid

Did a search for "hybrid", but nothing came up. Is it true that Honda is releasing a hybrid version sometime in 2008 around the $16,500 mark? If so...this will be my next car. I'm so tired of 25 mpg. Anyone hear anything definite or is it all still rumors?

I doubt a Fit hybrid would only be $16k.

It's just what I read online at one of the green hybrid sites. Considering the base model is only $13...$16500 is not that far off. Maybe a little more, but still it is supposed to be less than the Civic hybrid and esp the Prius.

i would imagine it close to be $20,000</TD></TR></TABLE>

The Insight was about $20k so I'm guessing a Fit would probably be around there or even higher.

A hybrid Fit would likely lose the magic seat due to the batteries wouldnt it? Thats a huge part of its practicality.

honda has officially said on numerous occasions that they have no plans of releasing a hybrid fit and the hybrid vehicle that they will be building in indiana is not a hybrid fit, but a new model.

Wondering why you are only getting 25 mpg ? I have 2000 mileson my M/T Fit Sport, and I get around 34 in town, but when I get out on the highway and use the cruise control, I just went 392 miles on 9.37 gallons, That's at 60 mph, and I got 42 MPG ! Good as gets in a Fit.
My Dad has a ' 05 Prius, paid bearly 30 grand and only gets about 51 MPG overall. How many years will it take to recover the extra cost, over the gas savings ?
OH ! About 10 years !

oh...I meant 25 mpg on my prelude. And if you do a search there are several articles sighting the price of the Hybrid "Fit" being around $16,500. But the latest reports are that it's not the Fit, but an entirely new hybrid vehicle that Honda is producing. I guess we'll find out in the next year.
