?Turbo?
Im trying to get a turbo for an s2k i berly got, but i just wanted to know if anyone could give me some ideas on which turbo set up i should get that could help me acheive my goal of hitting more then 400+ whp. What worked best for you guys?
Running the greddy kit... Couldn't be more than happy. Great for daily use. Though you won't get 400+rwhp with it. But honestly... have you ever owned a car with near that much HP? not practical for street use... IMHO. I'd much rather have a solid 300rwhp street car.
http://inlinepro.com/
their kit on their car made 500whp+
also http://www.ptuning.com has a guy there with a white AP1 with over 400whp. they might be willing to do custom kits

you dont NEED it , u want it.... like dyno QUEENS i make blah blah blah much.....
#'s dont mean **** to me honestly its what lights up at the end of the 1320 that matters
it aint a S2K or a Honda but we are making less then 500RWHP and ran 10.0 , that was on a basemap before the tune!

I couldn't agree more with Santos. There is no need for that amount of power, unless you simply want a dyno queen. the S2k is light enough where a simple 300hp will put you mid-12s with the right mods. If your trying to make a freeway monster, good luck with our gearing. As for road racing, or time attacks, I almost preferred my S2 in its NA form rather than its turbo.
but to each his own... good luck

I don't mean to hijack this thread but you bring up a good point. Could you explain that a little further? I've been thinking of going boost and would really like your opinion on N/A vs Boost for track.

it would depend on the course its self... N/A powerband if different that that of a boost app...
well with a smaller turbo things can be more similar... but the N/A powerband is perfered more by road course junkies

You dont need much.
I like alot of Hp, I dont like to lose a race.
I hope you dont think my car is a dyno queen, far from it. I dont run my mouth about being fast. I have many vids on here.
Its great that YOUR FRIENDS, not you, have a fast car. I ASSume its a V8 and is 2200-2500lbs with a driver. I will need 600rwhp to get the same time. Thats what happends when you have a small turbo motor.
On a side note, if you have a turbo car set-up right, for the road, it will kick the **** out of your beloved N/A. More power when done right will always win

i never said anythign about NA being better etc...
and assume all you want... no not my FRIENDS... my FATHER which i put in wrench time on.. and isnt what you might think...
its a small 1.8L motor that makes 82hp STOCK car weighs in at 2400lbs.
and i never said you were a dyno queen ive seen your car put in its work.... its a simple statement for the majority here....

haha im still in highschool so correct me if im wrong....isnt the s2k designed more for turns and handling?
all of you are talking about drag racing them and stuff. i just dont get it. well i brought my car to the strip once and i sucked ***, so maybe thats why i dont really see anything special about it. i have been racing circles since i was 12. anyways handling is a lot more important to me then layin down 400 whp and going in a strait line
. what are you really accomplishing? i see some guys that go to the strip every weekend just to pick up like 1 thousandth of a second. it just doesnt make sense to me.

Since you don't seem to know too much... just take your car to a very reputable shop and pay them to build a kit. If you're up for coming to FL, I'd recommend Stage 6 Motorsports here in Jacksonville. There are many options nationwide though.
BTW, no one here NEEDS and S2000, we all WANTED it. So let's lay off telling him what he needs/wants.

What have you been racing in circles? Most people turbo their S2000s for the street. Some people like to build cars for the street, some the drag strip, some the road course. It's a preference, just like I think circle racing is boring. You'll learn to respect people's interests in a few years when you're out of high school.
Now in agreement, I enjoy taking turns too. I also enjoy driving 400hp cars anywhere-- street or strip.

haha im in highschool with a 300 dollar insurance payment every month. street racing isnt worth it. if i were to get caught i would be losing my license and i just dont see the point. in raleigh there isnt really a place to street race anyways. we are more into haulin *** down back roads and drifting parking lots
as for the circle track racing, yes it does look boring. ill be honest, i cant really watch it on tv but when your in the car its a different story, just like anything to do with cars. the first car i raced was called a prochallenge, which were 1200 pound half scale cars with a kawasaki ninja motor. i also race a pinto haha
anyways the next thing im trying to get into is road course racing, i wouldnt use the s2k though. the main reason i bought the s2k is because im in highschool and i dont have to worry about anyone else getting one, plus the car is the **** and women love it.
haha i also agree that 400 whp is sweet, but my earlier response was to the comment of an n/a s2k being boring. i find that false. even though n/a s2k motors have no torque and need the rev, they are still fun around turns.
i also want to say that i get the same feeling punching it on the highway as i do on a drag strip. i also dont have to worry about the embarassment of people watching as my car gets beat lol

I think for the majority of the post, we are all on the same page. I'm glad this post isn't turning south. As for my previous comment, I really do enjoy road courses more than any other type of racing. The S2k in NA form felt more solid to me. granted driving an S2k fast around any track is a skill most don't posses, myself included. Just with the addition of my turbo, I am much more cautious pushing my car as hard as before.
But that error lies with in the driver. I'm not saying an NA s2k is ALWAYS faster around the track. Only that I felt more confident in NA form, then I do now turbo'ed.
