Do I really need a cooling fan?
I'm doing a wire tuck on my DC4 and I removed the fan on the driver side and I'm wiring up the passenger fan tommorow to a switch. I've been looking at some threads on wire tucking and alot of guys don't even run cooling fans period.
My DC4 has a decent sized radiator so could it be driven daily with the stock radiator with no fans and not overheat? p.s. I'm not in a traffic area, I don't sit more for 3 mins when I drive so could I pull it off??

I've been driving for the past week without any, and it doesn't go over half.
You could also invent into some slim fans, and mount them on the front of the rad.

I took mine off my stock Integra, but got stuck in really bad traffic one summer day and had to pull over to keep my engine from overheating. I should mention I had the interior gutted too, so I could not use the heater core to sap some heat from the engine. Not sure how much it can pull, but my car overheated in about 35 minutes of extreme stop and go, and I am talking right into the red. It had a new water pump too, so just be careful if you live in a warm area that can have bad traffic jams. (Ambient temperature was about 80 that day)
Yea it's there for a reason. If you don't want them to be visible. get 2 slimfans and mount them on the dront of the radiator. And why are you wiring your fan to a switch? That's like taking your starter out so that you'd have to manually start (push) your car every time.

The other fan wasn't working right so I just took it out, but I ended up cutting the wires to the pass. fan along with the driver. fan
So I decided to just make it a switch or run it full time. I may just get a slim fan and slap it on the front so it won't be visible...

You can get 'slimfans' made by other companies that are not as well known for pretty cheap, or look for some used ones in the h-t classifieds. Also, I wouldn't recommend ghetto-rigging anything like that. It's just going to give you headaches later on and you'll start liking your car less and less as things get more and more ghetto. Do it right the first time and you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you fixed the problem and that everything's right. Plus then you won't have to worry about having to press a button at random times, and what if you don't notice that the temp needle is moving up and don't turn it on?

Umm, you definitely do not need two fans.
One fan is there for the A/C condenser. If I remember right, it is the one on the passenger side. If you have no condenser, then you do not need the fan.
Also about the switch, I guarantee if you are even a remotely attentive driver you will notice the temp gauge as it gets up in the danger zone. Unless you talk on your cell phone or what not, in which case, you deserve to have an exploded radiator or coolant hose...

Well we can't just assume he doesn't have A/C. And me personally, I wouldn't want my needle getting anywhere near the red zone at all. If it started going up at all I'd be worried, and you might not notice it right away. If it does heat up too much, I think you're gonna have more to worry about than 'an exploded radiator or coolant hose'.
u should be fine if u have no ac. but if u have ac id put in the 2ed fan. my car does fine with only 1 but if i use ac in stop and go traffic it wants to overheat
Dont have a fan on my dualcore slim radiator on a NA B16A in hatch... i did install a digital gauge though and it stays at 195-205 most of the time... i was towing a RX7 a few days ago and it was at about 230-240 lol
id say you need a fan...do slim fans always have to be mounted in FRONT of the rad. ?? i just instaled mine where the OEM fan was...did i do it wrong?
