Default Send pics of your Type R

I do some road racing and autocrossing. I am interested in helping my GSR to handle as close to the Type R as possible. Why? Who better to imitate than the Type R!
Right now I am concentrating on the rear hatch. Can you please send pics of the rear hatch area under the carpet. I want to see where the reinforcment is under the carpet. Thank you for your help.

There is no visible added bracing under the carpet in the rear hatch area.

Just get a cage, install an RS roof and be done with it.

There is a brace that goes across the spare tire area. I just want to know where, because I think Honda knows what they are doing.

I think I know where parts are on my own car, thanks. The brace isn't located under the carpet as you mentioned, but on the panel that goes behind the taillights. This brace will not help nearly as much as a rollbar will, and since you do autox/track events a rollbar will be FAR more beneficial to you.

EDIT: Also don't forget to install a roof that does not have a sunroof. Honda did this on the ITR and as you previously stated, they do know what they're doing.

No need to take it personal I obviously dont have a grand for a roll cage or want to go to the trouble to get a new roof. Honda did not put the sunroof in because of weight. For right now I need to stay in the budget. Thanks for the posts. If you are so sure yours does not have what I am talking about, just send a pic of your car. By the way, what year Type R is it?

The sunroof is not in because it provides greater structural integrity and is lighter. An Autopower or Kirk rollbar is an affordable solution to adding structural integrity.

As stated by myself above:

I think you'd better send us a picture of your car first, so we can make sure you don't already have the parts we do. Hurry up and send the picture, because I don't have time to search.
