recommendations for obd0 motor

i helped a friend with a b16a swap last summer and now i'm doing one solo. since its my first I figured I would stay with obd0 since wiring for me is a nightmare. I noticed b16a swaps are real popular in EF's but I'm turned off my the high 5th gear. I'm looking for a good performing obd0 motor with decent pulls. Any recommendations?

B16A with LS 5th gear

LS 5th gear into b16 trans?
or B16 swap?
i have no idea about the 5th gear install, but it cant be too bad.

Get an LS or B20...only thing with the B20, is you'll need to swap the intake with an LS or any aftermarket one made for LS...and use any B series tranny...
