Default Cab Filter Question

Do Accords have Cabin Filters? If so, would a dirty one cause a burnt smell in the car? I have a slight burning candle smell (not the antifreeze cookie dough smell) when I turn the fan motor on. It smells exactly like a house does the first time you turn on the furnace in the fall. Replace Cabin fliter?

Yes, they have two under the glove compartment area. It is a real pain in the **** to get to it, but be very patient.
Also, if you are not careful, you can easily scratch the trim pieces. I was very careful, and I still managaed to scratch one of the pieces.

Just in case someone with an older Accord actually searches for this information.

HAHA, you beat me to it.....anyway it took me about 45 minutes to do it in our '98. Just take your time so you don't break anything.

I remember one thing was a PITA on our '98 - the glovebox light socket would hang up on something in the structure alongside. It was difficult to work the glovebox out of it's place.

I understand it's much easier on 7th-gen (beginning in '03) but I haven't done ours yet.
