Default Do you know what this tool is?

This was found in the bottom of a box of car parts some local kid bought from a suspension company. Speculation is that it is a cutting tool, possibly with the machining not finished on the shank. Anyone use this type of cutter at work sell them, any info or other insight? ever seen a rotary tool or any type with a shank like this?

usually you will see square shanks on taps or hand reamers... i've never seen anything like this though. very odd. i can't imagine what it might have been used for... maybe a paper weight.

it was a shock company i think, so i was imagining it maybe chamfering the inner or outer edge of some tube or maybe cutting out one of the round welds on the bottom of some shocks...i dont really know. paper weight

I've used a very similar tool for boring crude holes in concrete. That thing doesn't look like its made for cutting metal at all.

Would also be my guess.

Is it not a brake piston tool? To put screw in pistons back in place before installing new pads?

looks like a tool used on a lathe. The cutting edges look like they may be high speed steel which is used in tools for machine shops. Don't know exactly what the use could be.
