Default Sand blasting safe for rims?

Will sand blasting rims be too much and possiably damage the wheel? Need to strip my wheels but nothing seems to work.

If its powdercoat or a forged aluminum rim, it will pit the aluminum if you're not careful. I would strip it chemically if I were you.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I already tried Aircraft stuff but didn't do too much...

you need like 1 can or more for 1 rim, and some elbow grease with some steel wool

I talked to one and he said they acid dip for powder coated rims. But $50-60 a wheel just to strip them, and I think that's how much it cost to powder coat it also lol...

i JUST got done stripping my RGs.... here is the method i used.... 3 cans of aircraft stripper for all 4 wheels....after you let the stripper sit for 5-10 minutes, use a medium coarse steel wool pad and rub the surfaces of your wheels. repeat until satisfied pretty much.

it depends on how bare u want your wheels. since i primed them myself i just needed to take off the original clear and most layers, but i didn't care if it went to the bare metal or not
