Importing an R from CANADA to the USA
I tried searching and also posting this in other posts, but I can't seem to find a concrete answer. Is it possible to import a used 2001 Type R from Canada into the USA, Pennsylvania specifically? If so, what is involved? Do I need to change anything? How much does this typically cost to get everything sorted? Anyone have any first hand experience in importing an R? All answers are appreciated...

You can probably call Canada Customs and they'll tell you all of the costs involved.

From within Canada, call: 1 800 461-9999 (toll free)
From outside Canada, call: (204) 983-3500 or (506) 636-5064
(long-distance charges apply)

youll need to talk to a brokerage firm about it - americans cannot buy cars from canada - but brokers can - then resale to you.
since Canadian and US cars are built the same the emissions are very very similar and will pretty much pass everything......youll just need a title and register in the states

Yes you can....i just bought my R from unlimited from Canada. If you want to have it shipped to your place, contact a broker...go search for one and have the seller get a complience letter from Acura in Canada (as in my case, unlimited had to told them that he's moving here....) Anywayz, you need that to pay your custom tax, but the broker will take care of the rest for you. so in summary:
1. Find a broker in either U.S or Canada (Shipping company usually do this as well)
2. Get the bill of sales to the broker and the complience letter from Acura
3. Pay the broker and wait for your car.
