Default SSR Competitions + EM2 + Pics?

Anybody have pictures of SSR Competitions on an EM2? Badass wheels, at 13.3 pounds in 17" form I think they'd probably be ideal for Auto-X, which is what I hope to eventually set the car up for.

At $349 a wheel it's in the future

Hardly an ideal AutoX wheel. SSR comps are absolutely notorious for going out of round if you beat em. And 17" on this car isnt what I'd be running for autocross. You can fit a 15, use it.

SSR = Super Soft Rim

I've heard that was a problem for them several years ago, but I think they've corrected that problem in the past few years.

And yes, 15's would probably be ideal for quicker responses, I guess I'm looking for a compromise then. Perhaps a set of 15" track wheels and 17" street wheels would be a better idea.

Its the inertia reduction, but the biggest advantage is the ability to run that 205/50 tire. 6% gearing advantage is almost a requirment with the torqueless wonder. I found the car more laterally responsive with 17s (stiffer sidewalls), but the ability to both corner AND accelerate out of the corners made the 15s better.... not to mention a sticky 15 is about 70 bucks and a sticky 17 is about double that.

Source?

I've had roughly 7 different sets of SSR comps (still own 3 right now) and I have not had a single one bend on me either on the track or autox.

Any wheel will bend if you do something stupid. Will the SSR bend easier than another brand of forged wheel? Hard to tell. There were a lot of race teams running SSR comps because they came in a variety of sizes and Tire Rack kept a good stock on hand. That can't be said for Volk or any other forged wheel (a good stock in North America).

Doesn't bother me, because I know better.

The people that complain about SSR's softer compound, seem to forget that bent rims are easy to repair than broken ones.

Mostly my own 2 eyes. When I lived out in indiana, I knew 2 guys who egged more than one each. On R comps, but still, one would think a $300 wheel would survive some autoX runs. Since then, I steer clear of them, just based on personal experience. I also remember reading about RealTime having some issues with out of round SSRs, but it was a couple years back, and I cant seem to find it.
In addition, SSR has gained the reputation of making some very soft wheels. Why? I dont know, my metalurgical background is limited to a semester of material mechanics and another of material science. I wont try and figure it out, my guess is it has something to do with the process. But yes, I've seen people smash Volks, etc... up if you hit the front end of a track curb or something else abrupt, but I've never seen or heard of wearing a Volk out of round simply by driving hard on it.
