Painting R rims...
i have a pair of 98 white R rims. they are in pretty bad shape paint wise, but other than that no curbs. quick question, what is the cheapest way to paint them? just go buy any ole' spray paint? or is there a special spray paint to do this job? i might even consider taking it to a paint shop and have they paint them or even powder coat, what you guys think?
powder coating, unless u can find a "hook-up" is not gonna be cheap.
i myself painted mines flat black. stripped the whole thing down to bare metal and coated it with 3-4 coats of high temp paint from autozone. did it last Sept and still looks as good as new

powdercoating is the best, you have to remove the tire from the rim. You might also look into "hardhat" spray paint. made by krylon or rustoleum, i forget which. leaves an almost shell like coating, pretty durable for a spray paint.
I powder coated mine last year for $40 bucks a pop, way cheaper than what the specialty shops were asking $130 each. Look for a machine shop in your yellow pages or whatever that does powdercoating, you may need to special order the powder to match the color. either way it is still cheaper. Good Luck
