Default HELP PLEASE!!!

So im pretty much new to the honda-tech forum...but ive been on here much before jsut never posted...but i resently wrecked my 91 accord...it was totaled but i managed to fix it to drive and be legal...it had no hood on it and it rained(my luck) but after it got done raining it still cranked right up..so i decided to drive it to work. I got off work and went to crank it and nothing..i replaced the dis. cap, button, and wires...it still wont crank though..ive let it dry out for a week and still nothing..ive checked all fuses and nothing is blown..i need something to fix this...its killing me i need my car back!

check to see if you are getting spark at the plugs. use another car w/ jumper cables if the battery is dead.

if you are then check to see if you're getting fuel.

you are missing one or the other if it cranks but does not start.

stop throwing parts at it you are wasting your money. if you can't do these two tasks I suggest you contact a mechanic.

the car can still run with a bad altenator .. until the battery dies, in your case your battery died from cranking and cranking ... like i said before CHECK FOR SPARK AND GAS if you dont know how to check for spark they sell spark tester's that you plug into your plug wire and it will light a bulb every time the car cranks..if its not getting spark check the coil / if it is getting spark loosen the fuel line on the fire wall going to the filter on have someone turn the key on , but dont start the car just turn the key until the fuel pump primes . there should be gas squirting out ( use a rag or a cup to catch the gas and watch your eyes lol ..... find your problem first , then you buy the parts. dont go buying stuff you dont need

Alternators get wet all the time. They don't short out from that. I wash my engine off at the carwash, no problem.
