2003 Honda Accord Accident
I doubt it. I'm fairly sure the front airbag deployment sensors are in the front bumper area, and it looks as if that is relatively intact in the picture. I have no idea where the side one's are.

The best thing about living in America is you get to SUE!

without knowing the particulars of the accident, it is hard to say if the airbag should have deployed or not. the SRS system determines what airbag(s) to deploy and at what force based upon accident paremeters...
You are making yourself look cheap by stating that you want to sue Honda.
what happened?

A lot of things are considered when the computer decides to deploy the airbags...impact point, deceleration vs time, impact force...blah blah blah...SRS = supplimental restraint system meaning it's only supplimental...as in...it's not primary therefore it is not subject to deploy unless the computer think it needs to be.
it looks like a pretty bad accident tho...are you alright?

airbag will not be deployed in a rear end impact as you would have been been pushed BACKWARDS into your seat. As for the bag not deploying from the frontal impact that resulted, the Occupant Position Detection System most likely calculated that someone was in the seat but was out of position for the bag to deploy. If the bag had deployed, you could have been killed or severely injured.
You did not mention if you had a passenger and if you didn't the air bag would deploy since OPDS did not find any reason(s) to block deployment.

i thought that OPDS also served to keep costs down in a crash, so you dont have to replace 2front airbags and 2side airbags,
id think nothing would deploy on pass. side if noone was there, but if someone was there and theyre sitting crooked the sides wont deploy, and/or the front wont/will
i dont know man, if anything i think seatbelt pretensioners would have helped
but again, idk if that goes hand in hand with airbags
dont sue honda, i gotta try and get a free tranny outa them in about 10months when the extended warranty expires

all the info i have seen indicate that it prevents deployment if occupant is out of position or under weight. It could be the way you say but his accident indicates otherwise

i most likely got it wrong, i onlycaught 2hrs of sleep, had to finish a book(english sucks), anyways that could be just fot 6th gen accords, but i am certain that opds prevents the side airbags from deployind is someone is too small or sitting funny, the front airbags may or not be "smart"
