Default Long overdue APexi N1 Review

Well I know I promised this to you guys a long time ago but I just moved and work has been kicking my ***.

Anyways, I am loving the N1. It sounds great and I have definitely noticed a difference in power. The car pulls much harder in the higher RPMs. The sound is unbelievable. Its not too loud and its not to quiet. It also doesn't sound like a fart can. The installation was pretty straight forward. One thing we did have to do was bend the hangers a little because it didn't sit centered in the rear. But it wasn't too tough to get it centered up and it has stayed put since. It was wierd that there was a hanger just before the muffler that wasn't needed. Not quite sure why it was there but it doesn't hit on anything and all the other hangers worked great. All in all I love the exhaust and would highly recommend it to anyone. Below are some pics of the ride and a link to a video. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

You say it isn't too quiet or too loud, correct? In the vid it sounds perfect, very deep an aggressive even at idle.

Before I buy it though, it's kind of contingent on how loud it can be - I want an exhaust that sounds like yours does at idle, but can get quite loud at WOT. The skunk2 seemed to be perfect for me until I heard there was a loud drone during cruising.

So my questions would be...

1) Is it pretty loud at WOT?
2) Is there a bad drone when highway cruising?

Thanks a lot, it looks great

N1 exhausts are too loud for my taste especially if you do alot of hwy driving. I personally like the sounds from Hks-hi power (favorite), greddy, & the world sport.

Yea it is very loud at wide open. I love that part of it. But when I am just cruising it has a nice sound to it that is not over powering. I do a lot of highway miles for work and it was annoying at highway cruising I would definitely know.

When you get on it yes it is LOUD but just normal driving is just enough to turn heads. I am very pleased with it.

Well exhausts always sound different when just idle revving vs. the engine having a load on it. And besides, it sounds too deep to be a "fart can".

why did you use myspace videos instead of youtube?

The muffler sounds great, but like I said, you may think its quiet when your cruising but IMO it sounded extremely loud even when you first turned it on. I could only imagine how loud that would be when you take off.

I just got mine put on Friday and after agree with pretty much everything cutler has to say.
1-- It looks sick and it fits perfect.
2-- Sound is really really nice, especially lower RPM's. At higher RPM's and Vtech it really isnt too loud. I thought it would be a lot louder. Highway cruising speed there really isnt any drone at all. Im usually cruising at about 3000 roms and barely hear it with the windows down and the music on at a moderate volume. To me this is how the stock exhaust should sound. I also have the injen cai and i think they compliment each other well.
3-- To compare to any other exhaust is tough for me. The only other exhaust I have ever been around is the 70mm Skunk2. Its a different sound then the skunk2. The skunk2 isnt human. The A'pexi is a lot quieter. I have some pics that i will post when i get home from work and some video clips sometime soon.

One thing I did notice after I put mine on is that it gets louder as it breaks in. I thought it was too quiet when i first got it but it got much louder after a few days.
