Default what would you do?

ok here is my dilema... ive been wanting the retro from custom lights for the longest time and i didnt mind the cost. after sending several emails and not getting any response ive come across another solution that some of you may think is "rice"...but hear me out. the only thing thats rice about the ebay kits people sell are the halos and the l.e.d's. why not disable the halos, and either disable the l.e.d's or change the led to orange like the turn signal??? it just seems like it may actually look nice. whats the worst that can happen, the set will run you $250 max, and if you dont like it just post it back up and sell it for 200. any feedback is encouraged.

EBAY lights of any sort have a tendency to be sealed poorly and will allow moisture in and will fog up and you will not be happy... dont go ebay

I have the Ebay lights and like the way they look better than the Retros, in all honesty. The LEDs look great, you need to see them turned on a night because no picture will do them justice.

Either way, they WILL reduce visibility too. I've noticed that. However, they do not fog up and moisture never makes it inside. Don't let that be the deterring factor.

Why do you say you lose visibility? I have a set of hids that light up the road well will that make a difference?

Ebay projectors are halogen based and usually low quality "projectors"
you will actually LOSE visibility with them.

Even if you put in an HID bulb kit BEHIND the ebay projector.. you'd be losing valuable light due to the way halogen projector and HID projectors differ in design.

Honestly if your going to do it... do it right. Your halogen headlights were designed for maximum output and go through 100's of hours of testing
where as... ebay ones... do not, they get an oem frame and they jam whatever they can fit into it.... and pump them out.

Another member on the forums here bought a "ebay" kit and swapped in a tsx projector setup on that and it came out nice.... however.. I trust OEM lenses , base etc and Bjorn @ customlightz work ....a billion times OVER some ebay brand trash.

Safety first...

Style Second....

Cutting corners on something that omits light in the darkness of night to alert other motorists of your presence and along with securing your car that you can see the road shouldn't even be in question.

heres my ebay lights w/E46 BMW Projectors and HIDS instead of the junk ones they come with

I have another set of lights almost done same ones but I used the TSX projectors for them they look 100 times better ...not installed yet though
both sets I painted black inside and painted over the fruity halo's.....
I will have the E46 projector retro up for sale soon! ( the ones in the pic)

Customlightz gets very busy and Bjorn also has school (I think). Just keep trying, they will get back with you. Just be patient.

As for Ebay lights. I don't know about rice, but one thing is for sure, you WILL NOT get the customer service you get from Customlightz. I had a couple things going on with my Customlightz retro and Bjorn spent as much time as needed to walk me through getting the issues corrected. Bjorn also kept in contact with me after I got things resolved it insure I was happy and that everything was working the way it was suppose too. They use the highest quality components and do awesome work.

Customlightz does a TRUE custom retro. I mean everything from Color, to shrouds, to cut-offs, to projectors, to ballast, is all up the client.

You get Ebay light and you have problems, your screwed.

I guess you can tell I think Customlightz is awesome.

I am REALLY particular about my car and I had to put alot of trust in Customlightz. I would spend the money again tomorrow to have it done again. The light output is truly mind boggling. Here are mine, enough said.
