What could I do to make my EX perform land look ike a Si ?
I am getting a 2dr EX in a week. I couldn't afford the Si, and the dealer here in Abbotsford, BC, Canada seemed to charge too much for it.
I am getting the HFP lip kit installed.
Where can I get a wing similiar to the Si, or maybe even the Mugen Si ?
What would I need to do to my engine to upgrade performance to levels comparable to an Si ?
Just want to figure out what is needed so I can start getting money together for the mods.
Thanks

Cant buy the Si wing from the dealer, already checked. At least not this dealer.
Don't care very much about interior aesthetics.
More concerned about performance and that rear wing

Trade it in and buy a Si. Thats what I did. If you look aroung online they sell replacement wings for the Si. What color is your car? I might be interested in a trade. Here is one for $280

Find a dealer that doesn't price gouge and buy a SI. A SI is only 2k over a EX, you'll spend that much for a lip kit installed.

It really sounds like you are getting hosed here. I would really wait to get the car you want. Other wise you are going to be regretting it everytime you put a new part on. The SI really shouldnt be that much more, and with the amount of work you are talkin about putting into your car it would be worth it, finacially and personally to wait for your car.
You gotta know how to deal with stealerships man. I used to sell cars, so I guess that helps, but you just got to make it seem like you dont NEED to buy the car. That way they will make an extra effort to reel you in.
Just remember dealers can take an average of 10% off sticker and still turn a lot profit, so there are people out there willing to work with you. Tons of honda dealerships too.
For example: My dealership was telling me how civic si's are in extremely high demand in the region and people are actually making an addendum selling the cars for a thousand or two above sticker.
I got sticker price, and a 600 dollar discount. That alone lowered my mo payment by about 80 a month. combine that with a 2k down payment, a civic si can be a very affordable car, but the situation is what you make of it.

Huh? I'd try another lending institution. There is no reason different trim levels have different interest rates. Your not set on using Honda to finance the car. Try your bank or credit union.

I would really wait, and search other dealers. Try to get a loan from a credit union if you can, haggle the price down, basically just do your homework. Comparing performance wise an EX to the SI is like apples and oranges.

As others have said, just get the SI. It's not much more than the EX to begin with.
Just to get the EX on par with whats out right now, you would need an AJP turbo kit on medium boost to get around to the performance of an SI. That right there will put you over the SI's cost.

Well this is and interesting question. I live in Quebec and ended up buying a DX coupe. Paid 10000 less then the Si. With that money i plan building a sleeper:SSR type c rs wheels, TEIN super street, SEIBON carbon fiber oem style hood, and last but not least, while i'm putting miles on the little R18 motor finishing up the warrenty, i've got a JDM K20a with a full TODA valvetrain in the works. Expecting to make about 230 wheel hp with a Comptech header and RSR exmag exhaust. Maybe cost a little more but i'll end up with a pretty nice car IMO.

My reccomendation is to either buy an EX and appreciate it for what it is or save for the car you really want. DO NOT settle for one car when its something else you want. Try and find an SI at a better price or even look for an used one. I am happy with my EX but i bought it for the right reasons. You wont be happy with one if what you really want is an SI.

if you want an si get an si I got mine for $20.300 spending money to make it what you want will cost you more in the long run! and if you need to sell it you will get a good bit of your money back. honda has one of the best resale value of any car and people want to buy si's dont waist your money!!! good luck
I decided I will get an Si
Even if that means I have to wait to save up some more down payment cash. I realized I don;t want to buy an EX and be unsatisfied with the performance even though its a great car.
I am negotiating a deal right now with another dealer, but it seems much more difficult to get the type of deals everyone seems to get in the US. I am assuming Canada doesn't sell nearly as many and dealers don't have as much play with the price. Just my observations.
I know Toyota dealerships in Canada are forced to all sell their cars at the same price. They cannot budge more then $300 - $400 or they could loose their dealership license. Toyota Canada put this into place so they always offer the best deal, still make profits, and other dealers can't undercut the little guys so much.
Maybe Honda Canada does the same thing.

As for my sleeper project, I can tell you can build a sleeper with a cf hood in my area. CF hood is not an indication of what is actually under the hood. I don't think Si owner will say: Oh he's got a Cf hood, must be a powerful car. And that's only if he really remarks it (black carbon on black car) But that's in my area and IMO. Anyway thank you for wishing me goodluck!

Thats interesting to know about Toyota.

I'm glad you came to your senses. When I was considering buying my SI, I *almost* settled for a new Eclipse because they were all over the lots, and more affordable. However, I really wanted an SI and waited around until I found one in stock. Best decision I ever made
