Trackdays in Norcal??
Take a look at this. http://www.biketweakers.com/tr....html This is for 2006, but if you see a track you like. Click on the organization to the right and it should take you to their website, then you can look at their schedule.
Norcal should be
Infineon
Thill
Laguna
Maybe Buttonwillow.

For a first timer, I'd recommend going to Zoom Zoom Trackdays or Keigwins @ The Track. They both have good novice schools.

There IS a 2007 calendar...

IMO, there's no point in riding at Laguna, Infineon, or any of the AMA/nicer tracks. Thunderill and Buttonwiller are just fine. Heck, even Reno Fernley would suffice for your first few trackdays. My take on it is, you would be too busy getting used to track riding to enjoy the actual track layout.

You'll also need to prep your bike according to the trackday provider's requirements... ie, water or water wetter in the cooling system (no antifreeze...and usually no engine ice), taped wheel weights, taped speedo, etc etc.
Thill is your best bet since theres plenty of days available and its reasonably priced but its a very highspeed track. Infineon is a great track but there are very few days available and they get booked quick. Reno Fernley is an AWESOME track. Very technical and has good run off.
