There is no "best", and any quality 5W-30 will work very well in your motor.

I am gonna get burned with this answer.... But Walmart SUPER TECH Full Synthetic Oil. It's made by WPP and has had many great reviews... I also use the Super-Tech Oil Filters for like $2.50 at Wal-mart because they're made by Champion who makes oil filters for Mobil 1 and K&N. I've been very impressed with Super Tech and might even start using it in my EM1... I've tried it out on my other cars and it's been holding its own and doing very good.

I would have to agree. I run Motuel, but have run Castrol, Q, Mobil 1, royal purple, ect, ect.

No problems with any of them

How is Royal Purpler? It says on its bottle that it's the only oil where you feel the difference. Is this true? Can you really feel a difference using Royal Purple? I'm not trying to be sarcastic here, i'm looking into trying it out. Thanks.

I use Valvoline, Mobil,, Formula Shell. What ever 5/30 oil is on sale, hehe... on my 97 dx with 170k miles on engine. I picked up a 99 SI which was spoiled with Mobil 1 since new so I just continue with it.

On an episode of Horsepower TV they changed all fluids to Royal Purple on a Camaro(engine oil, tranny fluid and differential fluid) and got 8hp on a dynojet. I don't know how much Royal Purple would help on a Honda, but it should improve engine performance a little.

Synthetic is not truly water based. And if you are running shell non-detergent oil then you are asking for problems down the road. Have you ever seen what mechanics call a "pennzoil motor"? It looks like someone dumped tar in your motor. How clean are the internals when using your shell oil?

Yea i heard about that Pennzoil crap. Leaves some crappy beezwax resisdue in your engine. So glad i never used pennzoil. I have nothing bad to say about Shell oil but i dont think that its everything that you say it to be.(not trying to be a D*** or anything)

I wasn't ******* shell oil per se. I was really just talking about non-detergent oil in general. I have personally only used mobil1, and it always comes out clean. Besides, we could run water in the crank case and still have a car that runs. Honda reliability ftw!

Neither is Mobile 1, but try telling that to the people that have been using it for years.

Im just saying, its supposed to be the high brand "king of oils". I'll stick with the castrol and use the money i saved to buy myself an oil filter.
