alright im hopeing there a honda god out there that can give some advice here.. my buddy has a 95 honda cx. His car no matter what, leans out really bad at 4k rpms.... i only know this due to a air to fuel ratio gauge.. i dont actually have a wideband, and also the fact that it just falls on its face after 4k.. currently he has a D16Z6 motor with 450 dsk injectors, and a t28 turbo.. hes running a vafc... now the one thing i spotted was that hes only running a 1 wire 02 sensor, instead of a 4 wire 02 sensor.. could that be one of the problems?? if not, is it something to do with the vafc, and if so anyone have a guide on how to use one of those bad boys?? or what they've tuned one of those things to on this kind of setup??
Thanks for the help guys!!

Ok is the car tuned? It sounds like its not. If you running 450cc injectors and that little turbo i highly doubt its leaned out. It probably falls on its face because its pig rich.
- Air/Fuel ratio gauge is highly inaccurate and only works on full throttle. Plus, Since your 02 sensor is wired wrong, it will give you false readings.
- Vafc is not the way to go. I'd rather send out for a chip and give the site the specs of your setup. This will allow you to drive the car to get tuned. As long as you dont beat on it, you'll be fine.
- Fix the 02 sensor as well. The car is not going to run right with a 1 wire 02 sensor. A 4 wire 02 sensor is totally different and the ecu is going to have no voltage/resistance to the other 3 wires.

hey asshat, you may want to read because a CX has a 1 wire o2 sensor from the factory, he needs a tune and th do it soon! the a/f guage is just a light show unless you have a wb o2 sensor

a VAFC is the closest thing to a POS on a honda. Chip the ECU and drop in Crome/Neptune or eCtune when it comes out.
Do it right and the car will last.
one other thought I had when reading this post... he has a Z6 swap, how is he actuating VTEC? chipped and VTEC components in the P05(CX ECU) or did he pick up a P28?
a single wire O2 with a crappy A/F gauge will sort of show you if the car is seriously lean or rich. I've diagnosed things like this with less.
with 450s, did he upgrade his fuel pump?

A P28 requires a four wire O2 (it will throw a CEL) unless it's chipped and the heater CEL is turned off.
is it specifically at 4k or is 4k when the boost starts to build?
