Hi I just wanted to introduce myself, im ley. I recently totaled my 03 ex, and found it as a great opportunity to take it as a blessing in disguise!

I'm picking up my si monday, the only problem is If I do want it monday, I am going to have to settle for ralley red with the hfp 18's on it, or the alabaster silver. I am not a fan of either of those. I was looking foward to the Fiji blue, taffeta white, or nighthawk pearl, but I can't really wait to get a car being that my insurance company is making me give the rental car back monday so I have no option being that my job depends on having a car.

I am not paying 2,000+ plus for some optional rims that honestly look good, but at that price I would rather have volks.

So anyone like that alabaster?

 

I like the ASM, I have a silver 98 EJ6...looks clean all the time

 

Well look on the bright side. At least you won't have a problem keepin your ride clean. Silver doesn't show dirt as well as black, white, and Fiji blue do.

Sounds like your options are very limited. Have you tried other dealerships??

Any ways, sorry to hear about your EX, but grats on having the ability to get an Si.

 

if i had to buy it again.. alabast. would be the first choice.

 

I haven't seen it in person yet. looking at the pictures it reminds me of silverstone on an s2000, which I do like very much.

I am warming up to it. I still would rather have that nighthawk over it any day though

 

nighthawk would have been my first choice (RR was much more available and grew on me quite quickly) but a PITA to keep clean. I'd pick NHBP over ASM in the end.

But...that doesn't help you, does it? I'd say that if you could look at it on a daily basis and smile, take the ASM in a heartbeat.

 

i like the ASM as well, was my 1st choice on my 06 but i saw Fiji in person and fell in love

 

I hate ASM with a passion.. it makes a fun car like an Si look boring. RR looks good but wouldn't be my first choice either.

NHBP looks amazing in the sun and in the dark but it is hard to keep clean. It was my first choice and I'm glad I went with it.

I totally agree with you. The blue pearl in NHBP really comes out in the sun on a clear blue day.

 

I have NHBP but wish i had the RR that i ordered which stands out more black is a pain in the *** every 10 sec's you see something else on it i would go with the abby silver because it wont show dirt for a while plus the RR already has hfp's on it and you said you didn't want those.

 

RR FTW IMO... but f*ck it, im a lil biased *reads signature*

either way, congrats on your luck. i got my Si on very similar terms. just the right amount of insurance check after deductible to get a great downpayment on my love. :D

 

RR Sis are hot.

 

Between those two, I would get the RR.

 

ASM is very bland, not into any reds at all.

Working on the sticker price right now. My family has bought 5+ cars from the hendrick honda dealership here in Charlotte, so they should cut me some kind of deal.

But yeah, its mine monday. Can't wait. I just test drove a used nighthawk for the hell of it today. boy oh boy..

How could you not like RR if you seen it in person with the hfp kit you would cream your pants.

 

They had a RR in the showroom with the HFP kit and ICW rims (kind of look like e36 stock m3 rims)
and window tint

it was lets just say

i think my ***** head exploded

Very well put but you made a good choice on the taffy it looks clean all the time it has that cool look to it good luck.

 

Hey my car is going to be 07 fresh off the truck, any tips for breaking it in? I heard your suppose to change your oil earlier than normal but anything else I should know?

 

The oil just changed it when your oil life meter reads 15% i think i changed mine at 4,500 miles at 20% oil life i broke mine in hard hitting vtec with only 15 miles on the car and till this day it runs strong and gets good MPG. There are a **** load of different ways you can break it in if you plan on racing it alot break it in hard if not go on a nice cruise and go up in the revs then back down keep going up and down. Like drive to 80 then slow down to 65 or 55 then do it again several minutes later i would also hit vtec a few times during the break in so it can see those high rpms where it should be living at enjoy.

 

dont change it before ur suppose to. the oil it comes with helps break the motor in and dont smash on the car for the 1st 500 or 1000 miles dont remember which mileage is right.

 

Its funny because alot of people said they hit vtec coming out of the dealership so don't be afraid to redline the bitch with only 100 miles on it per say just don't bang all gears or full out race with it for 600 miles i think it says in the manual.

 

Ask if you can get the stock SI rims instead of the HFP rims.

 

I am getting the stock rims. Those hfp rims are hot though, but probably weigh a ton. But yea I heard about the motor in the car from the factory being made with more of something in it god i forgot the word, but it is to help break in so I don't know why i even asked that. And I am sure people who test drive the new ones punch it a few times heh.
