this is a project thread for bodywork/paint

-My car - 92 Si w/SIR-II swap + mods

-My twin brother's car - 92 DA w/ LS-T 7psi + mods

<U>Supplies</U>

f you rust


goodbye


fender repair, it's an art


fill dings with lightweight filler


sand dings flat


prime and wet sand with block, 320 then a finish grit



clean and tape off
chemical wash, tack, and spray


you'll be alright be back for you soon.

Objective: Captiva Blue

<U>EG</U>

go screw rust


fender and major body repairs, tough work


fill dings with lightweight filler


sand dings flat



this one needs more help, poor abused Eg




spray with 2 part primer then wet sand with a block, 320 then 600


clean and tape off, chemical wash, tack


new candy coated shell for the EG...

Objective: Java Black Pearl

self taught, ah that's what i get for posting on hater-tech...just trying to share a fun project that helped me save alot of money and paint an old car. Fiberglass is waterproof and minimal filler was used on the repair areas.

cool, never knew about that fiberglass stuff, looks like an easier solution instead of replacing the whole panel.

ehh. doesnt look like you sanded before applying your filler...There are acouple other things I dont really agree with....but since you dont want to hear the negitives all I am going to say is this....

did it in my free time over a few months...good info with that link! I'm sure there are things that a professional might not agree with but the idea is that the paint job was inexpensive and was done by someone with not much bodywork experience, so we basically did the best we could with limited time, supplies, money...currently a broke *** college student ha. This is not a thread displaying a perfect process..more of a fun DIY rust removal project that comes out pretty dam good.

i dont know why it looks that way in that pic but obviously i sanded the area first....materials were 100ish total for both cars, not too bad at all, there are def more things we could have done but the idea was bascially for a diy affordable rust repair and professional paint job and i have a feeling yall will like the final result
