uhhh been awhile ill have to look around.it doesnt look horrible ghetto yes but not horrible

edit: im sure some of you may have seen this done before but heres a write up on it .

suplies i used .
3 7/8th x 20ft of garnde edging (yes im on da w3lfa1r)
25 pack of 3/16th aluminim rivets .
rivet gun
3/16th drill bit
used a heat gun (this is key but ill get to that in a min )

1. remove bumper (theres enough threads on here on how to do that )

2.layed out the edging and ran the heat gun over it to soften it up (its stuck in coil mode when i bought it )

3. cut out what you need (always cut alittle longer then you need just in case, it trim very easily )

4.start at one end (i used 2 rivets to keep it from flaring out)
hard to see here but i stated with the 2 rivets

5. i spaced mine out 4 inches and 1 2/3 down to get a good spot on the oem lip for the rivets .

6 when ready to drill heat up the area before drilling the holes , this expands the edgeing . once its softer and rises up abit drill and rivet . once it cools it will pull its self tight and you wont get ripples in the lip.

7.its important to do one rivet/drill at a time .

the side of the oem lip support the edging nicely but in the center i dassed some metal backstraping and bent it up so it puts a bit of pressure on the cent of the lip (i dont wan to by driving down the road and have it fold under the car .lol

thats basicly it . took about 1.5 hours to do

heres some pics

here it is after some paint on the rivets .

as you can see here the lip is strong enough to support the weight of the bumper on its own .

ill have some pics of it on the car in a few days . need to get the black housings wired up .

let me know what you think lol and i know how ghetto it is

sorry pics are gone but heres some other site

you can use garage door bottom seal, it works well and looks like a stock lip.

I still think you can not have a cleaner look than a 94/95 lip on a 96/97 bumper. I'm getting sick off the whole everything needs to be JDM fad( I know that is is not what the thread is about). Like I said clean and simple

I really don't get the whole garden gutter lip thing. If there's an "abundance" of aftermarket/oem/jdm lips for the car, just buy one. Don't go ghetto on it.....

it's just garden edging...

You'll find it in the Garden Center > Landscape Supplies area.

HA HA HA HA are you serious. The one on the civic doesn't look to bad, but that crap on the accord looks just plain nasty. But props on creativity though.
Stick with an aftermarket brand, if you really want that ricer look, get a stillen lip or "mugen" lip.
But I have to agree, the 94/95 lips are the sex. I actually like the whole package with the 94/95, front lipand rear lip.

Hello Guys,

I am building a car for autox and later on the road track, but as far as practical goes, the gutter guard is best as it is cheap and serves a useful purpose. If you damage it, you still have more of the roll to put it in again. Im going to do this and post it when its done.
