Default dpfi - mpfi conversion question

i've looked over numerous instructions for the dpfi to mpfi conversion - 88 civic dx.

i was able to get the intake manifold off an 87 si. i know your supposed to get them from 88 and above...but you think there's a huge difference? can i put this on my car following the same wiring? would i need an 87 si distributor or would it matter?

and ya...i was too lazy to figure out what model engine this came off of. i'm lookin for an easy answer here - yes/no.

thanks for your help.
