I just swapped a EX/SI tranny into my Civic. I previously had a 99 EX Tranny..but it went out me because i had bent shift linkage and the gears werent going in ....NOW after my swap i have 1,2,3 and no 4th and 5th .When i say no 4th and 5th... i mean i shift to 4th let the clutch slowly it sort of catches but grinds and moves my shifter vibrantly as it grinds.....same for 5th.... So whats causing this my shift linkage or a i need MTF or is the tranny bad =[? I can go in from 1,2,3 just fine and reverse as well no grinds but doesnt want to catch 4th or 5th jus grinds and semie catches them..

That's odd... Can you get it in those gears with the motor off?

 

nah i kept the same linkage of the motor i was pretty sure i was getting all gears

 

i tried going into 4th today slowly let the clutch out it caught but once gas is given it pops out....i know its catching vecause i can hear the RPMS settle when i depress the clutch slowly and hold the stick into 4th. tranny fluid or tranny lube or what?
