Beep, Beep, Beep. Door buzzer driving me insane, please help!!
My passanger side door seems to always say it's open so the stupid buzzer goes off and drives me crazy, I think I found the problem now I just need a solution, I think it's in the sensor that's connected to the seatbelt, sounds weird I know, but I'm pretty sure thats where it is, now I tried rigging something up but it didn't work, I may go to a junkyard and look for that new piece, it doesn't beep all the time ( just most of the time ) but if I pull the door or hold it while driving shut it stops, but if I hit a bump or it just wants to go off it does, anyone have any ideas? I need to stop the beeping even if it requires unplugging the buzzer, thanks for the help.
the little slider thingy on the door is like a sensor telling when the door is open or closed... maybe your door is not shut all the way? one easy fix to that, is either pull the slider back a little, and put a dime inbetween it, so it thinks that the door is always closed. another one could be just unscrewing (phillips), a little way out, so that the slider is pushed back all the time as well.... hope that made anykind of sense. lol
I thought it was that but I don't think it is, there is a sensor on the door, that has alittle white flap thing that goes up and down, and someother sensors on the door, the little slid thing, I unplugged it, the sensor and everything and it still beeped. I will try to mess with it some, but I'm not sure thats where it's coming from..
Definitely dont cut wires or even disconnect them unless you also want to risk losing the other helpful warnings. There is a small gray box behind the middle console near the glove box that controls this stuff, and its easy to short it out...ask me how I know.
If you remove the cover and screws that hold the rearview mirror in place there is a tiny circuit board that has that beeper and the two warning lights on it. A piece of electrical tape over the peizo buzzer will make it nearly silent as a temporary fix while you track down the short (starting near the seatbelt buckle itself.)
Good luck!

I unplugged the beeping from up by the rear view mirror.......I also had to unplug the wire that goes to the door latch (90 Civic hatch), cause it was telling the seatbelts to retract thus, draining my battery.......Now on to the fuel pump........
