CAR STILL GETS HOT?
Trending Topics
IF the fans are on and the temp needle is still up.. I"m leaning towards a malfunction there.
Try this...
I assume it doesn't take long before the car gets " hot" right? So, with it cold, take off the radiator cap and let it idle.
Keep a look out at the water, it shoudl be kinda sitting there. Dip yrou finger peridically in it to test for warmth.. It'll slowly heat up untill your thermostat opens, then the water will start circulating and it'll get hot.
If The above never happens and the water stays cool/warm (of course its gonna warm some, the engine bay is hot) you have a stuck thrmostat. DO NOT drive it untill you replace it.
Try that and let us knwo what happens.
But please, dont take off the cap when the car is hot and scald yoruself :S

^ yes do what he says and do not drive it until you fix the problem. i was running my boss' 4runner a few months ago. something was malfunctioning with his cars cooling system and it got too hot, even though the temp gauge didnt show it, and ended up having to replace the engine.
