will a bolt in roll bar do anything?
excuse the language, but hell yes...i got a 4pt race autopower and it does wonders in my rex. It is bolt in just make sure to use proper backing plates

backing plate refers to a small aluminum or mild steel plate that basically resmembles the mounting points on the bar...this is put on the four points were the bar hits the chassis. These are used so the car grabs these and not the sheet metal of your frame which in time could easily tear. Backing plates and hardware for the four pt from autoopower are only like 50 bucks and are well worth it. http://www.sandmracing.com/ima...s.jpg something like this
i think tahts what hes saying so its not just hte bolts that hold it on the metal its the bigger surface area of the backing plate
more surface area = stronger hold
