So a while ago my civic's automatic tranny started acting up. When I would first start driving the car, it wouldn't shift from 2nd to 3rd, it would just hang in 2nd for a while until i would hear a grinding sound, then it would drop into 3rd and everything would be cool.
Then after a while, sometimes I would shift into reverse and nothing would happen, as though it was still in Park. I would have to mess around with the shifter, and sometimes I would hear a a loud bang from the tranny and it would go into Reverse.

Okay, well I figured that the tranny was done for, so I bought another one from some guy here on H-T who assured me that it was in perfect working order when he took it out of his car. So now it's installed, and now when i shift into any of the gears nothing happens. Sometimes i hear some grinding.

So i guess if you've read this far, here is the question. I'm wondering if there was even a problem with my original tranny in the first place, or if it was something else. If anyone could give some insight, if they've had the same sort of issues, I would be most appreciative.

have u chaged your tranny fluid? if so are u sure it was the right one?

 

check your fluid. It sounds like there isnt any in it.
