Default PaulK's project log - UK VT

Given I have a lovely mrk1 waiting for a B16 I was in two minds whether to break the VT or save it. I chose to save it and here's the results so far:

old 'repair' ripped off

&

new inner & outer arches (both sides)
part of outer sill repaired (both sides)
repair panels for area near drain holes fabricated (both sides)
GRP 'mango' sunroof

old

new

The sunroof hasn't been easy. It required a lot of filler to smooth it out, and a lot of grinding to fit. As you can see it's sitting very high on the o/s front and there's a big gap on the rear! This'll all be sorted in due course.

The next big job is cleaning and restoring alll the trim (cloth, cellulose, lots of rubbing and some vinyl care), obtaining new clips (thanks Nick!) and getting it finished. Then after that restoring the VT alloys to mint.

Looks like a good project. Where did you get your quarter repair panels?

The Si seats are just EDM VT seats - 1/2 leather, 1/2 vinyl and very comfy

The repair panels were sourced by my welder, but I'm sure he got them from our local bodyshop supplier.

Looks like a nice start. I always loved red crx's. So what are you going to do to get your sunroof to fit in better. Mine is kinda off line like that, just not that bad. I figured maybe new seals would solve my problem.

Love the seats!!

The sunroof now fits nice and flush. I remove some more of the GRP near the fixings to lower it on one side. It's not as clean as the OE one, but still looks great.

As far as I'm aware my headlights aren't adjustable. Do you mean intensity or beam direction? I don't have a clue really
