99-00 SIs use 5w-40....would it be kool if we use 10w-40 or no ?

as of right now i use Mobile Synthetic 5w-40...thanx

hondas run on 5w30. 10w30 is thicker and will take a few hp away b'cuz of friction.

i run MOBIL one with a 5w30 weight and its fine.

 

I run 10w-40, I also live in texas though

That explains it. I used sythetic for 2 years in my si, and from what I read i might have been wasting money. Make your own decision. After reading, I did not think that saving an extra $60 a year was worth the (possibly false) sense of satisfaction I received from knowing I was using the alleged best.

sorry for my snicker...but it does say what oil to use in your owners manual.

I recommend 5w30 for na
10w30 mobil 1 for turbo.
