Default Coilovers

seems toyomatt84 has a lot to say about the F2s and they look very good in his posts so this could go out to him and maybe onlyuk7thgen since he has bought coilovers in the UK

I have about £500 ($900USD ish) to play with once i get the EM2 and most peeps i have spoken to says slam it. The car is sitting on 17" Honda alloys as it is and i plan to keep them as they suit the car.

Can anyone recomend a decent set of coilovers to lower the ride height and help improve the drive of the car. I also have a front and reat strut bar waiting to go on also to help stiffen the car up a tad.

Anyones recomendation and thoughts will be considered

Cheers folks

Im not gonna be racing the car so its just a basic set of coilovers i need i suppose

I would recommend doing what ONLYuk7thGen did and get KW coilovers. First of all, because they're a respectable company. Secondly, it's going to cost you more than what I paid to get F2's, and won't be worth it in the long run, since the KW's seem to be quite the piece of kit.

When ONLYuk7thGen gets on, I'll pass him the note to look at this. He can give you his source for his KW's.

Alright mate, yeah, basically what he said lol. I've got variant 1's, and i've had them on for about 4 months and i love them. The ride in town is great and when you want to say hello to Mr B-road they perform brilliantly aswell. You can get V2's for EM2's but you sound like you use your car like me and V2's are overkill really for just fast road driving. The salesman actually talked me out of buying V2's!

It probably sounds like i'm saying it because i have them, but they're up there with the best that i've had experience of for the ride quality/performance compromise.

They cost me a little more than your budget at around £725 including delivery, but it sounds like you're planning on doing some nice things to your Civic so if it were me, i'd wait a bit longer and save the extra cash for them rather than go for the cheap and quick option. Plus they're stainless bodied which helps in our weather, mine still look mint, which i couldnt say about my old Spax ones i had on my EJ6 after even a month. The Spax's i had were around £550, and the difference in quality between those and the KW's is huge.

Anyway, i got them from here http://www.k300performance.co.uk/kw-suspension.htm. They were great to deal with and they can get them over from Europe in 6 weeks.

Check out the salt test at the bottom of the page by the way.

You'll also want a rear camber kit. I got mine through Eibach UK: 01455 285851

By the way, what 17in Honda alloys does it have?
