Default Any problems with an inaccurate fuel gauge?

My 1999 GSR fuel gauge never reads accurately. When I fill up the tank, it doesn't even go to the very top but very close.

A couple weeks ago, I was curious about our fuel tank capacity, and found that it was 13.2 gallons, seen here: http://www.itrsport.com/specifications.html

Now, my gauge was reading near E so I figured I know I'm not really that close, considering my trip milegage was only reading 280ish but I might as well fill up.

Well, I fill her up, and the pump reads 8.7xx gal. which is insane to me - because that means I had appx. 4.5 more gallons in my tank when it was reading E.

Has anybody else had this problem with their fuel gauge? If so, did you fix it and how did you go about fixing it?

Common problem with Honda's gauge clusters. I fill up accordingly to my trip meter.

Interesting.

I just thought I'd bring it up because I came across this thread:
