This might sound like a really dumb question but here goes, i was wondering how you can tell what head you have just by looking at it, is there any things that are different in the appearance? i bought this integra and it had the Ls/vtec conversion already done to it he told me that it was a b16 head, but my friend believes that its a Gs-r head.....

 

if the stamps says P72 its GSR if its PR3 its b16. Also the neck for the radiator hose is different on b16 head i think it angles outward and on a GSR it is straight(someone please correct me if im wrong). Also the intake manifold is different, but if it isn't stock it may be hard to tell.

 

Crackerjacker is correct about the head casting number. That is your key...

Yea i took a look at the head and it said PR-3 or somthing like that.....

Then you're fine, you have the b16 head that was suppose to be on there,
even if it wasn't though, the b16 is not different enough to be Better then the gsr head.
