Easy access to radio/navigation ID?
Hi,
I bought a 2003 Accord EX w/ Navigation at an auction recently, but the car came with no documents whatsoever. I replaced a headlight, had to disconnect the battery to get to it, and now the navigation system wants a pin or else I cant use the nav or the radio.
The dealer said if I get the ID on the unit, they can look it up, but it's hard to get to and they'll charge me $160 to remove the navigation unit and just find the ID...So, is there an easier way to see that ID w/o removing all kinds of panels and whatnot??
We already looked for a sticker in the glove box and trunk, nothing there.
Any help is greatly appreciated...
Thanks,
Alex

I got my codes!!! The dealer told me the only way to get certain info was to take out the whole CD/Nav assembly and find some code on the back. Well I called Honda Customer Relations, they got me both the Radio code and Nav pin within 5 MINUTES. I can't believe I almost paid for something so simple...
My Accord has the DVD-ROM in the trunk, on it is a serial number that they can use to look up the pin. I don't know why the dealers dont know this, but it's not a big deal if you can get the serial number. None of the 3 dealers I talked to told me to call Honda Cust Relations...Hope this helps somebody in the future.
To get the radio ID, I held down the top part of the seek button and top part of the Change Disc button, then turned on the radio and it gave the radio ID, gave the radio ID to Honda and they gave me the code..you can get the honda phone# on their website.
