Default Help a noob out

Hey everyone, I am new to this whole perfomance part scene, but I am looking to throw a few things on my car. I have a 2006 Honda accord 4 cyl 2 dr with 5 spd manual. I am looking to spend around a thousand dollars, and things I am looking to get would be

1.) Performance chip
2.) Cold air intake
3.) idk

If anyone could help me out and tell me if there are any chips or cold air intakes or anything else that i could get for under a thousand dollars that would help my car push 200hp that would be great. My car sucks as it is..

those performance chips are pretty much bull if your buying those ebay ones that claims it can give you+20hp. CAI, its only going to make your car go fast in the higher rpm . i dont know how much hp they can give but im assuming 1-5. You can do suspension work if you want better performance as in handling. change the rear sway bar or go with coilovers

Performance chips

Get a nice cold air intake or short ram intake (ie. AEM, Injen, etc.). I have a SRI, but it's only an ebay special one. I'm looking to get an AEM SRI soon. Just a heads up, if you plan on getting a CAI and you live in a wet area or an area that has a lot of rain or if there's puddles around, get a bypass valve.

Do suspension mods first........get a nice spring/strut combo or get real coilovers. Stay away from sleeves because they use huge rubber O-rings to fill in the gap between the strut you use and the sleeve itself, so it does have movement there. Get either D2, FF, Omnipower, Tein coilovers.

I'm running Tokico blues (HPs) with H&R Sports. Pretty nice handling for a wagon...not too low either.

my.02 is that you have three ways to get more power. 1)make more the engine more powerful or 2)make the car able to better use its power. 3)get a bottle of Nitrous if you go with the first option i would invest parts like a SRI(short ram intake) header and full exhaust and get your Throttle Body bored out some. for the second i would recomend getting a basic suspension upgrades, lighter wheels and sticker tyres. as for the third, if you wanna suck on a bottle for power a 50 shot'll break your 200mph desire, just dont abuse it.

but thats just my .02

the parts you get really should depend on what type of look or feel you'd like your car to give and work towards that, don't put a bunch of things together expensive or not, it'll just look like a clutter of parts, more planning may help. Hope this helps
